Every time??!!
Why is it that nearly every time I visit a car park of some description, whether it be a shopping centre or supermarket, 9 times out of 10 someone is arriving or leaving one of the spaces around my car? It’s either a car in front, behind or to the side. It’s bordering on ridiculous. Ridiculous!!
When I first started noticing it, I thought I was imagining the frequency of which this was happening, that it couldn’t possibly be that often. But as it kept happening, I started to tell those that have the pleasure of being a passenger with me. To my relief I found that it wasn’t just in my head. Family also noticed and now it’s a standing joke whenever we hit a car park. But this started me thinking. Is it the universe playing a strange kind of joke or does this happen to everyone?
It’s totally uncanny. I’ve even stalled my return to the car to try and steer my destiny away from having to negotiate that awkward situation of trying to get in or out of your car with someone waiting to do the same. But stalling seems to make no difference. Simply, it seems to confirm that the person controlling the hands of fate are having some fun at my expense!
I’ve even considered enlisting the help of a clever developer to create a simple app that the public could use. This would mean that every time a person parked or vacated a parking space, they would log whether they encountered another person leaving or entering a space around them. I may still look into this, I’m sure that that it would support my thoughts, after all, every time this happens to me there’s a person in another car probably thinking the same!
